The Technology
Electrodeionization (EDI) is a process that uses ion exchange resins to absorb ions from a dilute water stream and then transports the absorbed ions through ion-exchange membranes into a concentrate water stream under the influence of an applied electro field.Electrodeionization (EDI) process can produce ultra-pure water without the uses of acid and base for resin regeneration, and such offers many advantages and environmental benefits.
EDI Advantage
● Continuous and automatic process
● No chemical regeneration
● No waste water discharge
● Higher water recovery
● Smaller foot print
● Lower operating cost

Special Features
Ordinary EDI module positions itself in serious scaling problems in the concentrate stream when the hardness of the feed water in greater than 1 ppm. The renovated S-EDI from Canpure opens a new era of EDI technology that may take feed water at 10 ppm hardness. With this technological renovation, EDI can gain much larger market scopes because it can be operated after single pass reverse osmosis systems and can easily replace existing mix-bed ion exchange devices that follow RO systems.
Feed hardness upto 10 ppm
No salt injection to concentrate stream
No concentrate recirculation
Low operation voltage and low power consumption
Applications
●Water filtration for municipal and drinking water
●Swimming pools and spas
●Pretreatment for Reverse Osmosis or Nano Filtration
●Water recovery from waste water
●Filtration of condensation and cooling water
